Bavarian automaker BMW has announced plans of showing the hybrid version of the 4-Series Coupe at next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show. Details regarding the car are scarce at this moment but most likely the car will ride on the same platform as the conventional-powered 4-Series Coupe and will get the same powertrain found inside the ActiveHybrid 3. As a result, chances are the 4-Series Hybrid will feature a 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter gasoline engine working together with an electric motor that provides an extra 55 HP for a grand total of 340 HP.
Performance details have not been released but we remind you that the sedan needs 5.3 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) and manages to return 39.8 mpg US (47.9 mpg UK or 5.9 liters / 100 km) with CO2 emissions standing at 139 g/km. It can also travel solely on electric power for a maximum of 2.5 miles (4 km) at a top speed of 46 mph (75 km/h).
