BMW M2 Coupe spied on the Nurburgring
A heavily camouflaged prototype of the BMW M2 Coupe has been caught on camera stretching on the Nürburgring. Its heart and soul will be an uprated version of the TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine developing 370 PS and 465 Nm (500 Nm with overboost) all wrapped around in a body weighing less than the M235i Coupe. It will also get a sporty exhaust system with quad tips, the braking system from the M3 / M4, along with a more aggressive design including bigger vents and other enhancements.
As far as the performances are concerned, expect the BMW M2 Coupe to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in approximately 4.4 seconds and top out at 155 mph (250 km/h) which will be electronically-limited. An optional M Driver’s Package should raise the limiter to 174 mph (274 km/h).
Customers will be able to order the BMW M2 Coupe with a Mineral Gray, Black Sapphire, Long Beach Blue and Alpine White body paint.
The high-performance coupe will likely be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show programmed for this September.
