Top 6 Tips to Keep Your Car in an Ideal Condition

A car is a man’s second home. In my case, I spend more time in my car than at home, thus my car runs a lot, which is a good thing from the machine point of view. However, the more you use your car, the more care it requires. Imagine all of a sudden your car refuses to start. You feel everything has gone upside down. To avoid such a situation, I have some really simple tips to keep your car in an ideal condition:

  1. Regularly Change your Car’s Filters:
You need to keep an eye on clogged and dirty air filter. It can reduce your car’s performance and gas mileage. You don’t need a professional to change the filter every few months. Just check one of those DIY tutorials and save a trip to the mechanic.
  2. Change your Car’s Oil:
When was the last time you changed your car’s oil? If you really want to prolong the life of your car’s engine, regular oil change is a must (consult your car manual to find when you should change oil). If you’re not taking care of this, I hope you’ve enough money to buy a new engine.
  3. Listen Carefully:
I know you love listening to your favorite Cold Play songs while driving, but sometimes it’s wise to turn the radio off and listen to your car. Do you hear any odd noises? If you hear a shrieking sound, these are your brakes yelling for a replacement. Do you hear a scraping sound? It means your brake pads are hitting the metal. If you’re not sure what the sound is, take your car to a mechanic. If you require genuine car components, visit Auto-Doc.at.
  4. Replace Faulty Spark Plugs:
It is another simple repair you can perform yourself. Hit the internet and watch tutorial videos. Spark plugs don’t cost a lot and they help in improving your car’s fuel economy and keep it running smoothly.
  5. Change the Coolant:
If you don’t change the coolant every year, your cooling system will be affected leading to an expensive and an extensive repair.

Follow your Car’s  Manual:
Who knows what’s best for your car? The automaker. No matter what your dealer tells you, it’s wise to follow your car’s manufacturer. Stick to that and keep your car well maintained.
