Toyota launches Vitz GRMN Turbo in Japan
Toyota has prepared a high-performance version of the Vitz (Yaris in other countries) for the local market. The potent three-door hatchback is wearing an aggressive body kit featuring updated side skirts, beefier front bumper and a large diffuser at the back. There’s also a sport exhaust system, LED-infused headlights, 17-inch BBS alloys and GRMN badging.
Toyota will sell the Vitz GRMN Turbo only in Super White II or Black Mica paint schemes. The inside has updated clusters, sports seats, bespoke floor mats, three-spoke steering wheel and alloy pedals for a sportier look.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine which generates a respectable 152 HP (112 kW) and 151 lb-ft (206 Nm) of torque. This power unit has been linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while other changes over the standard model include high-performance brakes and a sport-tuned suspension.
Toyota says production of the Vitz GRMN Turbo will be limited to 200 units, with orders commencing on August 25. Pricing begins at 2,700,000 yen and all cars will be offered on the first-come, first-serve rule so if you’re interested, make sure that you act fast once the order books are opened.
