Volkswagen e-Golf SE priced from $29,815

The 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf SE has been introduced in United States with a $29,815 starting price. This is a new entry-level version for the all-electric hatchback and is offered as standard with a 3.6 kW on-board charger and in the near future it will also be available with the optional 7.2 kW on-board charger that has DC fast charging. The driver gets to enjoy a 6.5-inch touchscreen MIB II infotainment and those who upgrade to the e-Golf SEL Premium ($36,415) will receive a bigger 8-inch display. The more expensive trim is available with an optional Driver Assistance Package featuring Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist), Forward Collision Warning and Parking Steering Assistant.

The 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf SE is powered by the same electric motor delivering 115 bhp and 199 lb-ft which enables the electrified hatchback run the 0-60 mph sprint in less than 10.4 seconds. More importantly, it has an EPA-rated maximum electric range of 83 miles (133 km) and will return 126 MPGe in the city, 105 MPGe on the highway and 116 MPGe in the combined cycle.

Volkswagen USA mentions the e-Golf Limited Edition (priced at $33,450) is no longer available, even though it was launched just a few months ago.
