Ford reveals 2015 Fusion sans 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine and manual gearbox

Ford unveiled the other day the 2015MY US-spec Fusion which will no longer be available with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine. This decision shouldn’t come as a shock since the Blue Oval company recently introduced a smaller 1.5-liter EB engine just as efficient and powerful so there’s no need to keep the old engine. Since the 1.6-liter EcoBoost was the only engine in the Fusion lineup to be offered with a manual gearbox, the stick shift has also been axed so the Fusion will be available from now on exclusively with an automatic transmission.

Other changes include standard 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels for the entry-level Fusion S which previously had steel wheels. Ford is introducing new body paint choices such as Magnetic, Guard, Tectonic and Bronze Fire Tinted Clearcoat Metallic while configurable daytime running lights are standard across the entire range.

The Fusion SE has gained 6-way power-adjustable passenger seat whereas the Titanium model boasts a 10-way power-adjustable passenger seat. Moreover, SE Appearance and SE Luxury Fusions now can have an all-wheel drive system.
